Grappa with Berries

Makes 6 servings This recipe can be made with any fruit that is in season. The recipe makes six portions, but you can make as much or as little as you like. Keep replenishing the fruit as you use it so that you’ll have a supply on hand whenever you need it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup red and green grapes
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 quart grappa

Directions

  1. Wash the fruit and place each type in a separate clean jar.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the sugar over the fruit in each of the jars. Pour 1 cup of grappa into each jar and allow to sit for 2 days before using. Store in the refrigerator. The berries can be served over gelato, sorbet, or a simple cake. You can also just eat them out of a glass with a spoon.
