Cutting board with broth ingredients

If you've been following along with our To-Do list, you probably don't have much cooking to do this weekend. Way to go!

If you still have some projects to check off, this is a great weekend to make broth, pie dough, cranberry sauce, and gravy (check out the CIA's free Virtual Thanksgiving Mini Boot Camp for a great video from Chef Sada!).

Otherwise, make sure your turkey is out of the freezer and defrosting. You'll want it to be ready to salt or brine by Tuesday, so don't wait! This goes for other items you may have prepared and frozen, too, like pie dough and broth. Remember to never defrost at room temperature, always in the fridge.

Since we won't be doing much cooking, we'll spend this weekend shopping for wine and laying out our serving dishes to make sure we have everything we need. Even if your celebration is small this year, it's still a nice treat to follow some of your normal traditions, so don't be afraid to pull out the good plates, even if it's just for you!
