Manhattan in a cocktail glass with cherries

Makes 1 serving

Some might say there is no better start to a classic steakhouse dinner than an ice cold Manhattan. Different bourbons or whiskeys will bring their own qualities to the finished drink, so experiment to see what you like best to create your signature cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon or whiskey
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • Dash of angostura bitters
  • 1 brandied cherry

Directions

  1. Combine the bourbon or whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice and stir with a bar spoon until cold. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the brandied cherry. The drink can also be served on the rocks.

For a Perfect Manhattan, replace half of the sweet vermouth with dry vermouth.
